"For one of the most vital ways to sustain ourselves is by building communities of resistance, places where we know we are not alone" -bell hooks
Let's name what's happening: We are witnessing monumental abuses of power at the highest levels of government. The core values that hold up our work to end gender-based violence are under threat.
Let's get together: It's important now more than ever. Join us for another gathering of system-based and community-based advocates to continue to deepen our connections and practice collective care.
Let's get grounded: We already have the skills, tools, and expertise to cope and resist. Let's look to the basic tenets of advocacy to get us through.
Let's create space to replenish and find joy through art: Tapping into art and creative expression can support healing and resilience. Join us for a collective art activity - no special skills required!
Agenda:
1:00 – 1:30 Welcome and Grounding
1:30 – 1:50 Organization highlights
1:50 – 3:00 Main Topic: Collective Community Care in Practice - Increasing Our Sense of Agency and Self-Determination
