Event Details
This series will examine how identity, power, oppression, and social systems shape survivor experience and the essential need for our advocacy to be rooted in self-determination and trauma informed practice. Throughout this time together, we will:
- Explore the foundations of survivor-centered advocacy
- Dig deeper into the dynamics of abuse, coercive control, trauma, and the systems survivors navigate every day.
- Learn to navigate complex situations with greater confidence and compassion.
Advocates will experience a blend of in-person workshops, live virtual sessions, asynchronous practice, self-reflection, and peer connection to build not only their knowledge, but also sustainable advocacy practices that support both survivors and themselves.
By the end of the series, participants won't just leave with new tools, they'll gain connections, greater confidence, and a community of advocates committed to learning from and supporting one another.

2. Who can attend? This is open to all GBV (DV, SA, CSE) advocates regardless of years of experience and level of expertise in the field! You can be a brand new gender-based violence advocate or an advocates that has been in the work for a few years and may want a refresher.
3. How many sessions are there, what are the dates, and what topics will be covered? This series is made up of 7 live sessions and 2 asynchronous learning modules between Sept 24th to Oct 22nd 2026. See dates below for the live sessions with corresponding topic.

4. Do you have to attend all of the sessions or just a few? Each session builds on the last, enabling participants to revisit ideas, practice new skills between sessions, and return with additional questions and insights. 5. When will this series be offered again? This is a pilot project of the Coalition Ending Gender-Based Violence. Whether or not it will be offered again in this same format or iteration will be dependent on many factors, including interest, feedback, funding, and capacity.
6. How many participants will be in the cohort? To ensure an intentional and intimate learning experience, this cohort will be capped 35 participants.
