Event Details

DVCHAP Training is required ONCE ANNUALLY for anyone submitting DVCHAP Assessments: if you are new to your role, have not participated in a training within the last year, or just want a refresher, this training is for you!

DVCHAP is a closed system for advocates/folks working in Gender-based Violence that are held to the confidentiality/privilege requirements under VAWA.

*NOTE Please double check that all attendees are registered with accurate names and emails: otherwise I cannot include their emails on the listserv for DVCHAP Opening Notices!

This is registration for:

TUESDAY, JULY 7TH, 2026

10am - 12pm PST via Zoom

What: The Domestic Violence Coordinated Housing Access Point (DVCHAP) system is a DV-specific housing resource system parallel to King County's Coordinated Entry for All. This training will provide DVCHAP historical context and background, discuss the DVCHAP process and assessment in-depth, and will include time for questions and feedback.

All advocates submitting assessments for DVCHAP housing resources must complete a DVCHAP training every year. Attendance of virtual training OR completion of the alternate training option is mandatory to submit referrals to DVCHAP. Assessments are completed by an advocate with the survivor. Assessments that include more information are often prioritized (if information is not included, it cannot be used to prioritize), and we want to make sure that a survivor has the opportunity to share as much as they feel comfortable with. This comes from advocates’ knowledge of resources and ability to ask pertinent follow-up questions while completing the assessment together.

Who: GBV advocates, case managers, or any provider who intends to submit referrals in the DVCHAP system for housing placement.

If this date does not work for your agency/team and/or you are interested in holding a training just for your team at a specific date/time, please contact the Hannah Whitworth to work out other arrangements. This training will be recorded.
