Background: The New Day Database is a comprehensive resource database of gender-based violence services across King County and adjacent counties. Launched in 2021 alongside the DVHopeline and the Domestic Violence Coordinated Housing Access Point (DVCHAP), the goal was to give gender-based violence advocates an extra tool to support survivors they were working with. The vision of the database was to strengthen relationships and communication across agencies, streamline referral processes, and reduce barriers for survivors seeking safety and stability.

Since then, the Coalition has struggled to keep up with the outreach necessary to maintain visibility, along with keeping up with the rapid changes in staffing and programming at organizational partners to maintain accurate resource information. As a result, the New Day Database has suffered from lack of utilization and decreasing relevance and usefulness.

Due to lack of ongoing funding and consistently low interest and utilization in this tool, the Coalition Ending Gender Based Violence has determined that we will be sunsetting the New Day Database at the end of 2026.

WHAT: Please join us for a discussion about the New Day Database and to re-evaluate the need for a comprehensive directory of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and commercial sexual exploitation (community advocacy and housing) services across King County. In this last listening session before the resource database sunsets, let's confirm what's working and hasn't worked about this resource database tool and hear about possibilities outside of New Day.
