DESCRIPTION: DV Housing & Homelessness Resources Training \nThis is registration for: \nTHURSDAY APRIL 11th, 2024\n12:00pm-2:00pm PST via Zoom\nWhat: This training will provide GBV advocates an understanding of housing & homelessness resources, including local mainstream (i.e.: not DV-specifc, Coordinated Entry, housing authorities) and DV programs. \n\nThis training will discuss the following topics:\n\n(1) An overview of general housing and homelessness resources such as: shelters, transitional housing, rapid rehousing, vouchers, low-income housing. \n\n(2) The Domestic Violence Coordinated Housing Access Point (DVCHAP) system, the current process of referring survivors to DVCHAP, and its limitations. \n\n(3) The training will wrap up with engaging attendees in referral discernment: what resource(s) are best for a survivor in the moment, who all can be prioritized sooner, and how to communicate the limited amount of housing resources.\n\nWho: GBV advocates who would like a refresher or a deeper understanding of the DV & mainstream housing & homelessness resources-- particularly advocates who intend to submit referrals in the DVCHAP system for housing placement. \n------------------------------------\nContact Jenn Dela Cruz for questions and accommodations, jenn@endgv.org \n\nThe training on Tuesday April 9th will cover the same material.\n \nCheck your spam/junk folder for the registration confirmation email. \n\n\n\n\nFor details, click here: https://endgv.secure.nonprofitsoapbox.com/thrapr11housingtraining
